B.E.A.M.'s Founder & CEO is a third-generation educator, author, and global transformation leader. Learn her story and the vision behind B.E.A.M. Education.
Dr. Andrea B. Long-Nelson is a third-generation educator with more than 30 years in K-12 education. Her career has spanned teacher, reading specialist, principal, assistant superintendent, curriculum director, and affiliate professor—driven by one conviction: education should be liberation, not limitation, especially for Black children.
As Founder & CEO of B.E.A.M. Education, Dr. Long-Nelson pioneered the Equitism™ framework, the foundational ethic of her upcoming book Synergy: The Collective Ecosystem. Her work is built on four pillars: Identity, Community, Competency, and Agency. She developed proprietary frameworks including the MICO™ Framework (Mindful Identity & Culture, Interdependence, Child Development Attunement, Whole-Child Stewardship, Actionability), Regenerative Accountability™, and the Scholar Mastery Passport.
Her vision has global reach. Dr. Long-Nelson presented her educational model to Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and the Barbados Ministry of Education. Her credentials include a BA from North Carolina Central University, an MA in Reading Education from Louisiana Tech University, and an EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
B.E.A.M. Microschool Academy is the realization of that vision—a school built around the scholar: multi-age, project-based, personalized, and infused with the specialist subjects that make learning feel alive. The founding families of B.E.A.M. will be part of that story. If that vision resonates with you, we invite you to join us.
